Thomas Ewigleben is an Executive Director with BDO, where he leads the firm’s Asia Global Value Chain practice. With over 30 years of international tax and supply chain expertise, Ewigleben is adept at successfully delivering strategic tax planning solutions using a practical business-driven approach that considers tax and non-tax aspects and produces sustainable financial benefits.

Ewigleben has worked with clients across various industries, including consumer products, chemical, high-tech, pharmaceutical, and automotive, focusing on international tax aspects of supply chain transformation, post-merger integration, business expansion, operating model changes, business initiatives, reorganisations, and cross-border transactions involving multiple tax jurisdictions. His experience includes centralised value chain models based in the US, Asia, Europe, and Central and South America, and he worked for several years in Singapore, leading the value chain tax practice for a Big Four accounting firm.

Ewigleben recently worked with a large global manufacturer, leading the analysis, design and implementation of a regional procurement hub model generating annual recurring tax and operational benefits (top line, cost reduction, tax savings, and asset improvements). He also worked with a global pharmaceutical company on analysing, designing and implementing a regional tax-efficient supply chain strategy that included supply chain integration, network design, demand management, supplier collaboration, supply chain organisation, service management, and intellectual property planning and management.

Education

Ewigleben earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s in taxation from the University of Central Florida.
