Chin Sien has over 25 years of specialist experience as a GST regulator and advisor, having started her career with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). At IRAS, Chin Sien led a team as a Senior Tax Auditor in conducting extensive GST audits on varied industries.
Having gained an insight on how the regulators work and motivated to help businesses with their GST matters, Chin Sien took up the profession as a GST advisor. Her experience includes her roles as Senior Manager at two Big Four international accounting firms. Chin Sien is also instrumental in bringing GST service offerings beyond the Big Four by setting up dedicated GST practice in two of the largest mid-tier firms which include BDO.
As a GST advisor, Chin Sien offered a full spectrum of compliance and advisory GST services including the Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP), Assisted Self-Help Kit (ASK) and GST due diligence reviews. She assists businesses in varied industries including oil and gas, logistics, aviation, information technology, manufacturing, shipping, property and construction, pharmaceutical and semi-conductor, to meet their needs and ensure overall GST compliance. Her background has helped her to provide invaluable insights into efficient GST compliance and risk management approaches.
Chin Sien conducted many GST workshops and spoke at public seminars on GST. Her key achievements include liaising and negotiating with IRAS on the successful recovery of GST over millions for clients.
