Sing with Heart - BDO Singapore's Auditors Befriending the Visually Impaired from SAVH

SINGAPORE: On 15 September 2023, BDO audit & assurance team had an incredibly heartwarming and fulfilling experience recently volunteering for the visually impaired from the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH).

SAVH is the national voluntary welfare organisation for the visually impaired. Their vision and mission are to promote their needs, interests and aspirations and help them help themselves by acquiring new skills and gaining self-reliance to cope with the integration into society.

More than 200 staff spent quality time befriending and connecting with these remarkable "VIPs - Visually Impaired Persons", forming bonds and friendships. Laughter, shared stories, and the warmth of newfound friendships truly brightened their day.

But that's not all! Our staff also had a fantastic time singing their hearts out with our "VIPs" in a sing-along competition where our teams and the visually impaired showcased their incredible talent and love for music.

The competition was 'fierce', but the camaraderie and shared enthusiasm shone even brighter. Witnessing the passion and determination of our visually impaired friends was truly inspiring.

To top it off, we treated them to a delicious lunch, creating more opportunities for conversations and connections. We also provided them BDO branded gifts to remember this memorable day and donated S$1000 worth of supermarket vouchers to our "VIPs".

This experience has touched our hearts and reminded us of the power of unity, compassion, and the joy of giving back to our community. Thank you for making this day truly exceptional!
